Semblance of Self
2024 - 2023
These paintings and constructions explore elements of daily living - an unmade bed, a stand of trees I hike through daily, a sentimental family heirloom (the flag) - as communicators of particular thoughts and memories being experienced. I see realism as a series of forms and shapes put together in ways deemed recognizable. Here, they are extracted, altered, and reshaped.
